The mission of The New Detroit Science Center is to inspire Detroit area children and their families to discover and appreciate science, technology and engineering in a dynamic, fun learning environment.
Founded by Detroit businessman and philanthropist Dexter Ferry nearly 30 years ago, the Detroit Science Center was among the first centers for scientific exploration and learning in the country to include an IMAXB. Dome Theatre. An exhibit floor and program plan encouraged hands-on interaction, exploration and study of science and technology.
