Amboy
Library
Company.
The
Company
disbanded
in
1835
and
the
book
collection
was
scattered.
Fifty
years
later,
in
1888,
a
group
of
citizens
formed
the
Perth
Amboy
Library
Association.
It
was
through
their
tireless
efforts
that
in
1891,
the
Library
became
incorporated
under
State
Law,
and
in
1896,
was
established
as
the
Perth
Amboy
Free
Public
Library,
under
Municipal
support.
